What if my first selection is too easy or too hard for me?
Internet streaming provides opportunity to view each lesson up to 5 times as well as move back and forth through the lesson and the parts of the lesson. The learner may prefer to begin with a later lesson or even select only parts of the lesson which meet his needs. If, however, the learner wishes to select a different level, subscriptions may be changed at no cost within 7 days of purchase.
What is internet video streaming?
A Beka ESL lessons are viewed any time by connecting to the internet. Video content is played by Microsoft Silverlight™.
Are the lessons live?
No. Lessons are recorded and available for viewing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
What type of equipment is needed to receive internet video streaming?
- Microsoft Silverlight 3™ (free download).
- A computer meeting the Microsoft Silverlight™ system requirements.
- A high-speed internet connection.
Will A Beka ESL video streaming work with Windows™, Mac OS™, or Linux™?
A Beka ESL will work on any computer that can run Microsoft Silverlight 3™. Please see the Microsoft Silverlight™ system requirements. Please note that PowerPC-based Macintosh computers are not supported.
What are the recommended system requirements?
A Beka video streaming uses Microsoft Silverlight 3™, so your computer should meet the Microsoft Silverlight™ system requirements.
Will video streaming work on a dial-up connection?
A Beka ESL does not recommend video streaming over a dial-up connection.
Why do some languages not show correctly in my browser?
Try installing East Asian languages in the Regional and Language Options Control Panel, on the Languages tab. You may also need the Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI). Different browsers and operating systems require different MUI downloads; you can search for MUIs at Microsoft.
What is my username?
Username is selected during subscription process. If you have forgotten, you may request a username reminder.
What is my password?
Password is selected during subscription process. If you have forgotten, you may reset your password.
What if my video runs choppy but the audio is fine?
Confirm that your computer meets the Microsoft Silverlight™ system requirements. Also try running in full screen mode (arrows near upper right of player).
